Creative Writing 2008-09
To be revised slightly in the near future. Creative Writing information will be sent home in the Wednesday folder as the 'Event' approaches.
Objectives:
To provide an opportunity for students to develop creative writing abilities and skills
To provide an opportunity for students to share their best written works with others
To provide an opportunity for students to have their best written works evaluated
Selection of Papers:
CCS will host its own preliminary Creative Writing Festival to determine which works are of the highest quality for the age group.
Only the best selections will be entered into the ACSI Creative Writing Festival.
All work must be assigned classroom work from the current school year.
Fine Arts Friday’s – students will have time in class to work on their Creative Writing Papers.
The chosen works are sent to the ACSI Festival – students do not attend this event.
Content:
Students have the freedom in the choice of content. The work does not have to be spiritual in nature, but the teacher should encourage a spiritual application, if appropriate.
Students should avoid themes that deal with the occult or content that would be offensive or inappropriate in nature. A student may, however, choose one of these areas and deal with it in a positive, biblical manner.
Questionable material will be returned and will not be judged.
A, an, the, and etc. is considered part of the word count.
